FertiVit™ Cooling / FertiVit™ Warming
FertiVit™ Cooling and FertiVit™ Warming are a matched set of ready-to-use media for the vitrification and warming of human oocytes and embryos, from zygote stage through to blastocyst. The Cooling media use a stepwise increase in DMSO and ethylene glycol concentrations to ease cells into cryoprotection, while the Warming media use decreasing sucrose concentrations to safely rehydrate them on the way out. Both kits are HTF-based, antibiotic-free, and supplemented with human serum albumin. CE-marked under MDR.
Description
Vitrification has become the dominant approach to oocyte and embryo cryopreservation, and the media used for cooling and warming are central to how well cells survive the process. FertiVit™ Cooling and FertiVit™ Warming are designed as a complete, matched system — each kit contains everything needed for one half of the cycle, and they’re intended to be used together for consistent results.
The Cooling kit walks cells through a stepwise exposure to increasing concentrations of DMSO and ethylene glycol, allowing cryoprotectants to equilibrate gradually before vitrification. FertiVit™ Cooling 5, the final step, also contains Ficoll to support rapid dehydration at the point of vitrification. On the warming side, the media use decreasing sucrose concentrations to draw cryoprotectants out of the cell in a controlled fashion, reducing osmotic shock during rehydration.
The entire system is HTF-based and HEPES-buffered, with human serum albumin (12–20 g/l depending on the individual medium) providing protein support throughout. No antibiotics are included in any of the media, which suits labs that prefer to keep their vitrification workflow antibiotic-free.
Performance is validated by mouse embryo assay, requiring ≥80% blastocyst development after sequential exposure to the full cooling and warming protocol. Both kits are ready to use with no preparation required. CE-marked under MDR (NB 2797), with registration in Brazil and other regions available upon request.
